2019 has arrived and it does not do to dwell on our dreams and forget to live. 2018 has passed and along with it the trials and tribulations that seemed like Everest. Yet, here we are welcoming the new dawn and the new challenges that 2019 has in store for us. Here you are, alive and reading this. To quote one of the genius of our time’s Sir Stephen Hawking – “However bad life may seem, there is always something you can do, and succeed at. While there’s life, there’s hope.” 2018 was a great year; it gave countless reasons to smile, to cry and to learn. Here you are wondering about the past year and reminiscing the moments that left you in awe or trying to whistle your pet dinosaur to come and gulp you down because of the heaviness or the grief-case that you’re carrying in your heart.
Here and Now
The past will always be your teacher and the future will always be your experimenting playfield while you’re enjoying this beautiful gift called the present. There will be second chances, there will be failures, there will be sunshine and rainbows, there will also be dark nights and the terrible storms, but life will still go on. In our small tenure here on earth why not enjoy, learn and play while transforming ourselves. The change begins at home and it starts from the heart when you’re looking in the mirror and all your cells and tissues are shouting their barbaric yawp saying that it’s enough. The voice of your soul is at the peak, waiting for you to answer the call. And you pick up and it says I love you for who you’re, stop trying to find yourself in other’s definition of you, you are you and you’re enough. You’re beautiful in your own way and if you feel you need to change, it’s because for you to get better at picking up soul’s call. Make The Most Of Your Present
Let’s just answer the call and not get rid of the tests, challenges, trials, tribulations but instead become stronger, more patient, kinder and most importantly more of ourselves.
Be The Best Version Of Yourself
It’s time we say, do and act in what we believe. Let there be no differences in our sayings and in our actions. You want to be a good son/daughter, try to listen to your parents, be grateful for what they have done and are still doing, be there for them instead swiping your fingers up and down on social media. It costs nothing to be kind.
Work On Your Relationships
New Year is a great time to reflect on your relationship with your partner, don’t try to convince them by saying you love them, instead show your love by actually caring for them, respecting their space without being clingy and possessive, accepting your mistakes and working on them, talk to your partner about how you feel for them, how your world brightens up waking up next to them. Be yourself, they are with you not because you remembered their birthdays but they are with you because of who you are as a person. It’s all about the journey, not the destination and it’s really important that you make your travel companion feel at home with you while you’re on the road of life.
Stop Thinking & Start Doing
You say you want to score good marks, get that dream job, or start something on your own, attract that person in your life while wasting your time feeling inferior to others on social media, procrastinating and believing that someday it all might just magically appear in your life. No, it doesn’t. So stop being a person who wishes and does nothing to make their life worthwhile. You want good marks, you have to put in those extra hours, work on your shortcomings. You want to score that dream job, work hard to increase the number of skills you have in your resume, treat your colleagues and seniors with respect, learn from them, there are many online courses available to enhance your knowledge. You want to start something on your own, awesome, there’s no better feeling than being your own boss. Mimic and follow the ones who have already done it. Thousands of books and podcasts are available online to guide you.
There are no shortcuts. Period.
If your actions do not match your sayings then you’re never going to be in sync with your soul. You have to be grateful for what you have, you have to thank your god, your karma, your past, your parents, teachers, friends anybody who have supported you and for where you’re now and most importantly you have to thank yourself for standing by your side through every thick and thin.
Disclaimer – It’s not going to be easy. A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor. But it’ll be worth the shot. It’ll be amazing to have your prayers fulfilled, if and only if you answer your soul’s calling. Just stop being someone else, be you. Do what you have always wanted to do, work for it, give your best and a little more and then let go. Let go of your ego, your procrastination, your need to be right all the time. Don’t be embarrassed about the criticism of you instead be proud of yourself for standing up for yourself.
Here’s to the new year you have been waiting for. It’s your defining year and all the heavenly glory it has in store is waiting for you to get up and smash those mental doors in your head. All the best dear, you’re beautiful and loved more than you can imagine.
